The Oregon Trail

The Oregon trail was a emigration route to the american west during the 19th century. The trail started in missori and ended in Oregon. People were promised free land in exchange for farming a small amount of crops. Some were facing poverty and unsafe living conditions. Some came for the new oppertunites. Most walked along with ox carried carridges, as the ride was very bumpy. The weather would change rapidl between blisteringly hot and freezing cold. In total, travellers went over 2000 miles. Many died from disease and starvation along the journey. Many had poor living conditions living in tiny cabins. Most had just enough to survive. Many died from ilnesses, and murder was common. Many also did not have enough food and starved to death.
